Additional ETD Screening Coming to Savannah/Hilton Head InternationalFebruary 22, 2010 - Back To Security Bulletins
A recent press release from TSA announced the expanded use of explosive trace detection (ETD) at airports across the country.
TSA screeners will use ETD to screen passengers' hands and carry-on baggage for explosive residue in checkpoint queuing areas, at security checkpoints and boarding gates. Electronic Trace Detection involves the swab of a piece of luggage or the passenger's hands for electronic analysis of potential explosive residue. The swab will not be reused so as to mitigate any health concerns. Back To Security Bulletins
