A WORD FROM OUR DIRECTOR
Looking back, 2017 was a great year for us in every regard; record highest monthly passenger traffic in May, record annual total passengers, record revenue and overall growth. This past year not only brought our first regularly scheduled international flight by a major air carrier when Air Canada began service to Toronto in May, but also the exciting announcement of new service to Miami and Chicago with American Airlines. No one would have, or could have, predicted the incredible growth we enjoyed in 2017. Looking forward – we have much to be excited about. We will keep our foot on the gas so we can keep the growth momentum going in 2018. We can expect another fantastic year given the added air service and the increase in the number of seats the airlines have scheduled for us. 2018 will bring the beginning of our comprehensive capital expansion program as we will begin construction on our new FIS, the terminal apron expansion and the southeast quadrant redevelopment project. We will finish design of the terminal expansion and begin design on our new air cargo complex. We have a lot of work to do in 2018 and we are ready for it. 2018 will be another great year.

INTRODUCTION
Travelers were excited to welcome Air Canada, which began service from Savannah to Toronto in the spring. They also were able to enjoy several new or upgraded vendors at the airport including Starbucks, Leopold’s Ice Cream, and Southbound Taphouse in Savannah Square, and Auntie Anne’s, The Great American Bagel Company, The Stella Bar, and Leopold’s Ice Cream Kiosk in the concourse. Savannah/Hilton Head International underwent external renovations as well, including the repaving of Airways Avenue and the repainting and upgrading of taxiway edgelines and thermoplastic markings.
To bring holiday cheer to military families, Savannah/Hilton Head International ended the year by welcoming gold star families to Savannah with The Snowball Express. The airport also held their annual Home for the Holidays contest, sending five active duty service members home to spend the holidays with their families.
