A number of services are available at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport for people with disabilities or limitations. The information below is for anyone with a disability or limitation planning to travel through Savannah/HIlton Head International.

Prior Arrangements

Make prior arrangements through your airline for wheelchair services, oxygen requirements and other accommodations to help ensure a smooth experience when you get to the airport. Most airlines have options through their reservations systems that allow travelers to identify specific needs.

Parking Accessibility

Parking for people with disabilities is available on the entry level of the Long Term/Hourly and Economy Parking garages. Parking for people who have vehicles with handicap license plates or a handicap tag is available in the parking areas near the entrances to the terminals. General parking rates apply.

Please make arrangements for a family member or friend to accompany you to and from the parking facilities. Your airline cannot guarantee someone will be available to assist you.

Assistance at the Airport

At the airport, airline personnel, the Visitor Information Center and Airport Ambassador volunteers are available to assist and answer questions.The Visitor Information Center is located on the lower level of the terminal building inside baggage claim. Service animal/pet relief areas are located outside each end of baggage claim before entering the rental car lots on level 1.

Airlines provide services for passengers needing assistance. Please contact your airline in advance of your arrival at Savannah/HiIton Head International so it can note your request on your reservation record. When you arrive at the airport let your airline representative at the ticket counter or gate area know that you will need assistance. All airline assistance services are complimentary. Tipping is customary, but not required. Prior to boarding please notify the airline gate agent if you need assistance boarding the aircraft. It is best also to notify your airline when making your reservation that you will require assistance when boarding.

Security Screening Procedures

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is responsible for transitioning passengers through the airport's security checkpoints.
