Update 1/23 11:40 AM: Runways at SAV are currently scheduled to remain closed until tomorrow afternoon, January 24th based on current conditions. As crews are working continuously to clear trouble spots, runways and taxiways will be reopened and flights can resume as soon as it is safe to do so.

We continue to see several flight cancellations for today, Thursday, January 23rd. Airport crews will reassess the condition of the runways later this morning. Flights into and out of Savannah/Hilton Head International will resume as soon as conditions allow. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airline for flight information and confirm reservations before coming to the airport.

Airport crews are working to clear runways and taxiways, but icy conditions remain after last night’s sleet and snowfall. Temperatures falling below freezing with sunset will necessitate keeping the runways closed until they can be reassessed tomorrow morning. Flights into and out of Savannah/Hilton Head International will resume as soon as conditions allow. Passengers are encouraged to check with their airline for flight information and confirm reservations before coming to the airport.
