Project Overview
This project includes the construction of a new Air Cargo Apron to service a new Air Cargo Facility which will be located on the North side of Gulfstream Road within the Northwest Quadrant of the airfield south of TW-H. The project includes approximately 40,000-sy of concrete ramp.
Benefits
This project will create an apron system capable of supporting aircraft which will utilize the new Air Cargo Facility being relocated from the Southeast Quadrant of the airfield to the Northwest Quadrant.
Project Progress
October 5, 2021
Earthwork, temporary fencing, storm drainage and erosion control has begun.
The low bidder, Independence Excavating, Inc., has been selected as the general contractor for this project. Work should begin in September 2021 and is expected to conclude April 2022.
January 5, 2022- Site preparation and storm drainage are ongoing, the first placement of P-306 concrete is scheduled for Thursday January 6. Independence Excavating is the general contractor.
March 31, 2022 – The demolition, storm drainage and high-mast ramp lighting items have been completed, concrete paving is 80% complete. Independence Excavating is the general contractor.
June 21, 2022 – The project is complete except for a few minor items and should be at Substantial Completion this week. Independence Excavating is the general contractor.
