SAVANNAH, GA – Due to the emergency weather situation, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport terminal building will be closed from 12:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2016, through 8:00 a.m. Sunday, October 9, 2016. All commercial air carrier operations are cancelled between midnight tonight and noon Sunday in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew’s arrival and resulting community evacuation. During this time, vehicle access to the terminal building will be limited to emergency vehicles and/or vehicles conducting official activities related to the hurricane emergency. There will be NO public access to the terminal building, nor will any stranded passengers be permitted to shelter within the terminal building. The public is urged not to call the airport but to contact the airlines directly for the most current flight information. The Savannah Airport Commission does not determine if flights are operating on schedule, are delayed, or cancelled, therefore, please check the Live Flight Information or contact the airlines. Calls to the airport made during this time period will reach emergency operations personnel. Up-to-date flight information can also be found on flySAV.com, airline websites, and social media pages.
