Currently in construction, the project includes the expansion and construction of the passenger security screening checkpoint.
Benefits
The project will expand the security checkpoint to six (6) lanes and will expedite the screening process and improve the passenger experience.
Project Progress
3/31/22 Currently under final design phase, this project will be out for bid soon with construction beginning later this year.
6/21/22 This project will be out for bid soon with construction beginning later this year.
10/4/22 The TSA checkpoint expansion will expand the existing three lanes security lanes to six lanes. Work is scheduled to begin on October 10, 2022. Collins Construction is the general contractor.
11/17/22 The contractor mobilized and began construction by installing perimeter security fence.
12/14/22 All apron concrete has been demolished. Stairways and jet bridge 1 have been removed. Excavating for water and sewer has begun.
4/28/23 The sewer and water distribution system are in place. The contractor will begin drilling the deep foundation piles within next couple of weeks.
6/29/23 The piles have been driven and pier caps are in place. Once the caps cure, they will begin utility and steel assembly work.
7/28/23 The jet bridge foundation for gate 1 is complete and the structure of the steel main frame has begun. Weather permitting, the concrete for the elevator pit will be placed next week and we should start to see metal decking going up within the next two weeks.
