Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport reports 2013 annual passenger statistics that surpassed 2012 numbers by 1%.  A strong first and fourth quarter helped the yearly total, with December traffic 4% higher than 2012.  With passenger enplanements (boardings) of 823,494, and deplanements of 818,594, the Airport served 1,642,088 passengers in 2013. “While our traffic was up slightly in 2013, we’re optimistic about even higher numbers in 2014”, said Executive Director Greg Kelly. He continued, “With JetBlue starting service and with our other air carriers adding capacity, we’re poised for a much better year with an expected 10% increase in traffic.”
    
Market share for airlines serving Savannah/Hilton Head International in 2013 was as follows: Delta Air Lines/Delta Connection 51%, US Airways 28%, United Airlines 15%, and American Eagle 6%.  The Airport finished out the year with a 79% load factor, a slight increase over 2012.
    
In February, JetBlue Airways began service to Savannah/Hilton Head International with two daily flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, and one daily flight to Boston.  Delta Airlines started daily nonstop service to New York’s JFK Airport in February. Currently, 43 daily flights are available offering non-stop service to Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, DC.
