SAVANNAH, GA – Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport reports 2014 annual passenger statistics that surpassed 2013 numbers by 17%. The well-‐timed addition of service on JetBlue in the first quarter made a significant impact on the yearly total, and the year ended with December’s monthly traffic 14% higher than it was in 2013. With passenger enplanements (boardings) of 963,385, and deplanements of 953,176, the Airport served 1,916,561 passengers in 2014.

Market share for airlines serving Savannah/Hilton Head International in 2014 was as follows: Delta Air Lines 48%, American/US Airways 27%, United Airlines 14%, and JetBlue 11%. The Airport finished out the year with an 82% load factor and available seats were up 13%. “We are seeing new leisure passengers coming to Savannah and Hilton Head Island as well as an increase in local and regional passengers,” said Airport Executive Director, Greg Kelly. He continued, “This is a good sign and if, as a population, we keep this up we will likely see more good things happen in terms of airfares and air service. If you haven’t flown in a while, now is the time to take a trip.”

In February 2014, JetBlue Airways began service to Savannah/Hilton Head International with two daily flights to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, and one daily flight to Boston. Delta Airlines also began offering daily nonstop service to New York’s JFK Airport in February. Currently, 43 daily flights are available offering non-‐stop service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, DC.
