CSX Bourne Avenue & Gulfstream Road Railroad Crossings Closing in Chatham County

SAV has been notified by CSX Intermodal Terminals, Inc. (CSX) that the railroad crossings at Bourne Avenue/Dean Forest Road and Gulfstream Road will be temporarily closed for maintenance. Travelers are encouraged to allow extra travel time when arriving at or departing from the airport, particularly from July 20–21, when both crossings will be closed simultaneously and traffic delays are expected. The Bourne Avenue/Dean Forest Road crossing will be closed July 16–21, and the Gulfstream Road crossing will be closed July 20–22.

Savannah/Hilton Head International Hits Biggest Month Ever

SAVANNAH, GA – Savannah/Hilton Head International welcomed 236,923 passengers in May, setting a record as the busiest month in SAV history and breaking the previous record from the month of April (223,402). The airport kicked off the busy summer travel season with a 16% increase for Memorial Day weekend. Total passengers for 2017 are 970,979 an increase of 13% over the same period one year ago. The airport also reported a 15% gain in the number of available seats for the month.

 Savannah/Hilton Head International currently offers 23 destinations with 49 daily non-stop departures and several additional weekly nonstop flights and destinations are offered seasonally. For current flight information, check the Airport’s website at www.flySAV.com.
